GEO-Academy kick off meeting in Athens

GEO-Academy, an Erasmus+ funded project to enhance teachers green, digital, and spatial competencies, kicked off at the Ellinogermaniki Agogi school in Athens, Greece from the 28th to the 29th September 2023. Over 36 months, GEO-Academy hopes to empower over 2,000 pre- and in-service teachers at primary and secondary level with the knowledge, skills, and resources needed to incorporate Geospatial Information Systems (GIS) Earth Observation (EO), Remote Sensing (RS), and Geographic Storytelling within sustainability and climate education in schools.

The role of space technology in supporting national decision-makers in disaster management. Highlights from the Satellite-based Services for Disaster Risk Management Workshop in Budapest

To address issues of response in a state of emergency, public authorities, researchers, civil institutions, private companies and other interested stakeholders gathered on 18 July 2023 at the premises of the National University of Public Service of Budapest to discuss opportunities and challenges related to the use of innovative tools in case of disastrous events. The workshop aimed to highlight the potential of satellite applications during different phases of disaster risk management.

Eurisy General Assembly 2023

On June 19th the brand-new ESA headquarter opened its doors to the Eurisy community to host its 2023 General Assembly. The General Assembly is the key annual meeting to take stock of the activities performed by the secretariat to meet the objectives set and to share information, exchange experiences, discuss potential partnerships. To address all possible needs the event has been organised in hybrid format counting 25 participants present on site and 17 members participating remotely, altogether representing 19 countries and 23 organisations.
