World Space Week

The largest space event on Earth, UN-declared World Space Week is celebrated October 4-10 annually. It is an international celebration of the contribution of space science and technology to the betterment of the human condition. World Space Week consists of a myriad of space related events held by space agencies, aerospace companies, schools, planetaria, museums, and astronomy clubs in a common timeframe to achieve greater student and public impact through synchronization.

74th International Astronautical Congress

The IAC 2023 is held under the theme Global Challenges and Opportunities: Give Space a Chance in Azerbaijan’s capital will extend unequalled prospects for establishing strong collaborations, and will serve as a perfect occasion to reach a diverse international audience through one-of-a-kind exposure both within the region and internationally. Delving into the most recent developments in the sphere of space at the Congress, the guests and participants will also have a chance to experience the authentic culture and hospitality of Azerbaijan.

This third episode of the Eurisy Members’ Corner focused on the UK Space Agency and how it helps to catalyse investment to support the growth of the UK space sector. The Applications Team and Local Growth Team highlighted some of their work in this area including the BASS programme and partnerships with various institutions.

Space for Defence and Security: Balkans and Black Sea perspectives II

On the 24th of March, Eurisy supported the National Security and Defence Research Center at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences to organise, in cooperation with the Ministry of Defence, the conference Space for Defence and Security: Balkans and Black Sea perspectives II, in Sofia.

Space 4 Critical Infrastructure – Energy & Transport

The webinar on energy and transport showcased that both sectors are inherently linked to critical infrastructure. Moreover, satellite solutions for the maintenance and monitoring of road and railway infrastructure, as well as for the safe transport and distribution of energy, support the green and digital transition endorsed by the EU political agenda.

It is already the 20th member of an expanding network of space organisations across Europe collaborating to disseminate space-derived innovation into society. The Space Service Hub: Ignition and Liftoff! 

The Space Service Hub is up and running. Together with the European Space Agency, Eurisy launched this new platform to showcase a diverse set of satellite-based applications. During the launch event, participants travelled from space to Earth to discover a set of satellite solutions in urban, rural and coastal areas. 

The Space Summer Festival 2022 – Space & Climate

From the 24th to the 25th of June, the second edition of the Space Summer Festival took place. The event was packed with accessible science talks and inspirational exhibitions. At the Eurisy booth visitors had the chance to learn about satellites in virtual reality. During the panel "Espace et climat" Eurisy presented the GIS4Schools project.
